Hello, i have a problem with my laptop. When I turn him on it starts showing "operating system not found". I watched some videos on YouTube how to fix it in boot menu and even tried to reinstall operating system, but nothing worked. Did anybody have same problem or do know a solution, please?

    (1) Press and hold the power button till the laptop shuts off.
    (2) Then unplug the charger and disconnect the battery pack for about 10 minutes.
    (3) Reconnect battery pack and plug charger back in.
    (4) When battery charge LED turns to steady blue, turn the machine on and immediately start tapping the F2 key
    (5) The BIOS menu should appear.
    (6) If the HDD or SSD is described in the BIOS Information tab, press F9 to load BIOS defaults. If not, STOP and report back here
    (7) Press F10 to save BIOS defaults and exit the BIOS menu
    (8) The laptop should now boot. If not report back and we'll try to repair the boot drive.

    Hi @Lolmety,

Reset this PC and keep my files
    1. Shutdown the unit. Press and hold alt+F10 key. Then turn ON the unit.
    2. You will get a blue screen. Choose the option troubleshoot.

    4. Resetting the PC will reinstall Windows, change settings back to their factory defaults and remove all preinstalled apps and programs without removing your personal files. Click Reset to continue.
    5. You will be shown the reset progress on the screen. The screen will turn off during the reset process.
    6. The screen will turn back on when it is installing Windows. Your PC will restart several times during the reset process.
    7. Follow the process until it completes.
    8. When your PC has completed the reset process, Windows will have been reset back to its factory default settings without removing your personal files.

    Hi @Easwar
The Alt+F10 is unfortunately not working at all, maybe it's because I have windows 8 and not 10, but thanks for help.

That's OK. Just showing that you're on a wireless LAN network, not wired.

    (1) Go to this link.   Click on Win8.1 and follow directions to make a bootable USB Win8.1 installation stick.
    (2) Insert the stick with the machine off. Turn the machine on and immediately start tapping the F12 key
    (3) A menu should appear to boot from the stick
    (4) Boot to the installation menu
    (5) Click on the troubleshooting or advanced section
    (6) Try to get to the command prompt option. A black screen with white letters and a blinking cursor.  X :  \ > _
    (7) At the X : \> _  prompt enter 'diskpart'
    (8) At the DISKPART > prompt enter 'list disk'
    (9) Please post a phone photo of 'list disk' result if possible.

after some time with that problem on my Aspire V5 laptop i found the problem. firstly I had formatted my laptop and what I didn't pay attention to was that my hard drive was changed to MBR instead of GPT as it comes from the factory. overlooked that Bios stack power out which led the BIos to return to the factory state which went from "legacy mode" to "UEFI". It also didn't let me get into BIOS anymore What was my solution to all this? I got a disk with Windows 10 in GPT format. I managed to start and in configuration between UEFI again. There I went to activate the entry by f12 again and go from "UEFI" to "legacy mode" again so that my original disk works again. recommendation if it is solved like this... make a backup and reinstall Windows converting your disk from MBR to GPT so that this error does not happen again that 99% sure threw the Laptop away

We need to do a hard reset.

Turn on the computer. When you see the acer logo turn off the computer. Tried to do the same steps for 6 to 7 times.

Tried to turn on the comptuer and check what happens. I am waiting for the computer to go chose an option , continue, troubleshoot. This is called repair mode.

If it is still not working turn off the computer. Look at the bottom row of keyboard. Tried to hold the alt key on the right. It might be alt or alt gr . Hold it and turn on the computer and keep tapping f10 . Keep holding the alt key on the right while tapping f10. Check whether the computer goes to repair mode which shows chose an option , continue , troubleshoot. Try the same steps with the alt key on the left and check.

OK, you probably don't have a hidden recovery partition with Win8. So follow these steps to make a bootable Win8.1 USB drive

I also had the same issue with my Acer Aspire V5-431P-997B4G50Mass.
    And this is what worked for me;

I had to rebuild a bootable windows 10 with the GPT option instead of MRB.
Then I went ahead to install a new windows(with GPT) and now my Acer Aspire V5-431P-997B4G50Mass works fine
