Acer Predator Triton 300 SE PT316-51s-7397 won't power on

My laptop won't power on.

I've had it for about a year and a half. During that time it would sometimes refuse to wake up from a sleep state; in that case I would do a power-cycle reset to fix it.

This morning I opened the laptop and the keyboard light was on steadily. The machine would not wake up. I tried to power-cycle it but it would not turn off. So I opened up the machine and disconnected/reconnected the battery. After that it will not power up. I've checked the battery connector, reconnected it, looked for other possible issues, but to no avail.

I'd appreciate any suggestions about how I might get the laptop working again. Thanks!

I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check the power rail, warranty may have expired.

Just some further advice as this happened to my Nitro laptop at about the same age as your Triton laptop, what you need to do is to not only disconnect the main battery, you need to disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and short its +&- pins at the mainboard plug with a metal object and also take the ram out, leave the laptop like that for 1 hour so that the EC chip and Chipset chip resets as these chips if they freeze and are not reset will continue to do what is happening to your laptop.

This is the PT316-52s laptops RTC/BIOS battery, after disconnecting the plug, short the +&- pins at the below red marked plug, as this resets the CMOS.

After 1 hour reconnect all components as you should not have any more boot and/or power on problems, if you do then your laptop has a faulty EC or chipset chip and either or both need replacing and reprograming, which can only be done by an experienced technician with micro soldering tools. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Thank you, @Puraw and @StevenGen, for your replies.

@StevenGen, I tried what you suggested but it didn't solve my problem. The same thing happens, which is that pressing the power button does nothing at all.

I opened a repair request, but I haven't received a reply and don't know how to follow up. I will start a new thread about that.
