Monitor won't turn off after power flash, even tried with replacement cable. How to fix this?

We recently had a short power flash and my monitor will not turn on now. I've had this happen before and eventually it started working again on its own. That hasn't happened yet. I thought it was the cable at first and ordered a replacement, but that hasn't fixed it, so I'm suspicious it's the monitor itself. Any suggestions or remedies? I've already tried the "hold the power button for 30-60 secs" with no luck. The monitor is about 10 years old but I'm really not interested in just replacing it if I can avoid it.

It could be a burn out of monitor due to the power surge. If it does not auto heal, you may want to take it to a local repair shop to check it out.
