    Hi @rcarlson1942,

    Good Day,

If your monitor has a built-in camera, you should be able to visibly see the camera lens, and the monitor should include a USB cable in the box. Please follow the steps bellow to connect your monitor and webcam.

    1. Plug in your monitor and connect it to your computer using a VGA, HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort cable.
    2. Connect the USB cable to your monitor USB port and one of the USB ports on your computer. Windows will show a notification message and automatically detect and initialize the webcam.
    3. You can verify your webcam is working using the Windows camera app. If you do not have it installed, you can download it from the Microsoft store.

Note: If your webcam is not automatically detected, check our Acer Drivers and Manuals page to see if a webcam driver is available. If there is a driver listed for your model, install it and restart your system and check to see if the camera is working.

    • Ensure the USB cable that connects the monitor to your computer is securely plugged in at both ends.
    •  There should be a USB cable between the monitor and computer for the camera/microphone.
    •  If the cable isn't connected to the computer, Windows has no way to see them.
    • Test the USB ports on both the monitor and your computer with another device to ensure they are  functioning properly.
    • Visit the Acer support website, download any necessary drivers for your monitor's camera, install them, and restart your computer.
    • Open the Windows Camera app and make sure the camera is detected. If it's not, select the camera  manually in the app’s settings.
    • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date to fix any compatibility issues.

Yes, the camera works over a USB port, not through the video cable.

Thanks, Eric and Rob, for your insights! It's great to hear about your setup—having multiple routers must be really handy for testing. Regarding the wireless aspect, Rob, I’m curious if there are specific antennas you recommend for enhancing 802.1b/g coverage? I want to make sure I get the right equipment to optimize my network. Appreciate your help!
