Hello,

I have an Acer Predator X34 monitor where all the side buttons and joystick have completely stopped working. Therefore, I cannot change any of the monitor options that I use to enjoy.

This problem started as an intermittent problem, where some buttons would work, and some would not. But, over the past year, the problem got worse and worse, and now the buttons are 100% dead.

The monitor is 1 year out of warranty now, so I would like to try and fix the issue myself. I'm an electrical engineer that works with small industrial electronics, but I have no experience with monitors. Could someone point me in the right direction and let me know what part I can order/replace?

The keyboard controls are on a separate card from the motherboard on your X34P. There are two cables that run between those two cards and it's possible yours have either become disconnected or have some corrosion on the contacts. Since you are out of warranty you should either have a technician look at that or do it yourself. To open it up you remove the stand, then the four screws. Next gently pry the back cover off. That should give you access to the keyboard card, but be careful of the cables, since the card is affixed to the cover.

@doodle jump First, check the connections inside the monitor, as sometimes cables can become loose or damaged. You should also check the control board, as it may be damaged or need to be cleaned.
