I have a CB315-3H Chromebook. It would not charge. I purchased a replacement battery and the battery is now fully charged. The problem is that it won't startup without the AC adapter being plugged in. I tried the refresh+power button method at startup with the AC adapter and also the escape+refresh+power button. Nothing worked. The only way to start this Chromebook is with the AC adapter plugged in. Once it is started I can remove the AC adapter.

Hi, what type of USB-C charger are you using? If this is a universal phone charger get a larger laptop USB-C charger.

Please try powering off and seeing if a quick Hardware Reset helps.
To fix some Chromebook problems, you might need to reset your Chromebook hardware, also called a hard reset.

Try a hard reset only after other ways to fix the problem have failed. It will restart your Chromebook hardware (like your keyboard and touchpad), and might delete some files in your Downloads folder.

    Hard reset your Chromebook
For most Chromebooks, follow the steps below:

    Turn off your Chromebook.
Press and hold Refresh and tap Power .
When your Chromebook starts up, release Refresh .
    Tips:

You can also press and hold Back + Refresh + Power for at least 10 seconds.
On tablets: Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons for at least 10 seconds, then release them.
    Other ways to hard reset
For some Chromebooks, you reset the hardware by pressing a special reset button, unplugging the power cable, or removing and re-inserting the battery. If you see your device in this list, follow the steps to reset its hardware.

    Hello,

I am using the charger that came with the Chromebook. It successively charged the battery. The problem is if I shut down and disconnect the charger pushing the power button didn’t turn on the Chromebook If I reconnect the charger the Chromebook powers on. I did another power reset with the refresh and power buttons that didn't fix the problem. So the only way to turn on my Chromebook is when the charger is connected.

    Hi Axxo,

I have done a hard reset a couple of times. It didn't work. I have also replaced the battery that is 100% charged. I will keep trying.
