Hello all,
I recently purchased this RAM kit:
Everything is working after installing aside from the RAM speed being set to 4800 instead of the 5600 I was expecting. I took a look in BIOS and did not see any options for RAM speeds. Am I missing something or am I just stuck with 4800 now?

If your laptop has an i7-13700HX CPU, it supports a maximum of 4800 MHz ram speed, and any higher speeds will downclock to 4800 MHz.
Thanks for the reply! I happen to have the i9-13900HX which should support 5600MHz. The factory RAM had that speed.
I thought the RAM kit I bought would magically work at that speed too, but seems like it doesn't :(
Then it should work unless there's some problem with ram. IIs It possible for you to return this RAM? And get another brand ram?
Get crucial 5600mhz ram kit for you laptop. They are mostly compatible and have no issue. Use below and choose your kit-
Btw, by checking your CPU-Z ram specs of your new ram. I see it's fake or duplicate ram. Return this RAM and get your money. If they don't then get replacement. You contact ram manufacturers to confirm if it's original or fake Via email. They will ask you to send image of ram sticks from both side. After manufacturer company, You can contact seller and ask for refund or replacement.
Taking a look at the latest available UEFI firmware (1.16) for the Predator PH16-71, we can see that these laptops are using a “very” outdated version of Intel Microcode (MCU) and Intel CS(ME):
In addition to the security flaws that users of this model are exposed to, perhaps this is the reason why you are not getting better speed (compatibility) with the RAM module used:
Unfortunately, Acer doesn't like to make this kind of update available! 😏
Gotcha. Sounds like I won't be getting the better speeds out of this kit so I'll give one of the Crucial kits a try and send this one back.

For anyone curious: After doing a little more research, I ended up going a bit more premium with the Kingston FURY Impacts and they are working at the 5600 MHz speed out of the box without any issues.

I still think it would be worth contacting Acer Support and asking them about the outdated CPU microcode on the Predator PH16-71.
Because a recent update was released for the Predator's PHN18-71 models, referring to the latest Intel MCU (0x129) patch.
Some further advice for your PH16-71 laptop, you should ONLY upgrade and use the Acer tested and recommended DDR5-5600MT/s type ram for the Predator Helios PH16-71 laptop that are the ram modules below, as they work:
