I have acer travelmate P253-m core i3 3rd generation. Now I want to upgrade my CPU to a comfortable version. Can i upgrade my CPU?

    Your TravelMate P253 (you don't say if it's a P253-E, a P253-M or a P253-MG) 

    supports Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs with a 35 TDP

    . The i3-2328M is a dual core/4 thread model in that line and you should be able to upgrade to as high as an i7-2640M

    Just be aware that a CPU upgrade will give very little performance increase. Always upgrade a HDD to SSD first, the max out the memory.

    OK, your TravelMate P253-M is a bit of an oldie, released just at the confluence of Windows 7 and Windows 8. It came with a Celeron, Pentium or 2nd gen Dual Core i3 CPU. The very latest models shipped with gen 3 CPUs instead, with the highest end version using a i5-3210M. Since you already have a 3rd gen CPU in your, you can use any of the 3rd gen CPUs that stay within your TDP (35W or less). I'd be leery of trying one of the 45W CPUs, but any of the 35W versions should work fine. Make sure first that you have adequate memory, I'd suggest the 8GB maximum if you are running Windows 10.
