What is your full model, like Aspire 5 a515-54G and what is the condition of your battery, run a battery report and post that here: Paste this in the command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and select "Print to Microsoft PDF", attach the report to your reply, type @Puraw or use "Quote" when you reply so I will get an alert.

Hi, you did not use the Windows Edge browser to print to Microsoft PDF, the report is incomplete and does not show the drainage profiles. Battery looks like brand new and in good shape. This model is only one year old, and I recommend bringing/sending it to Acer Services in your country as it still has 1 year warranty left. You can try this, completely shut down and disconnect the charger and reset the battery by inserting a pin in the small pinhole with a battery sign at the back of the laptop till you feel it click, keep pressing for 5 seconds then release and try to charge.

It sounds like your Acer Aspire 5 might have a setting enabled that stops charging when the laptop is turned off. This could be related to the battery settings or a feature like "Battery Charge Threshold" that's designed to extend battery life.

Here are a few things you can try:

Check BIOS Settings: Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS (usually by pressing F2 or Del during boot). Look for any options related to power management or charging behavior.
Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure your BIOS and battery drivers are up to date. Acer's support page should have the latest updates.
Turn Off Battery Saving Features: In Windows, go to "Power & Sleep" settings and check if any battery-saving options are enabled that might prevent charging when the laptop is off.
If none of this works, reaching out to Acer support for further troubleshooting could help.
