  • To restore the "Acer Optimized" power plan on your Acer Travelmate TMP414RN-53, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check for Existing Plans: First, ensure that the power plan is not hidden. Go to Control Panel > Power Options and click on "Show additional plans" to see if it appears there.
    2. Step-by-Step Guide to Import an Acer Power Plan

Export the Power Plan from Another Acer Device:

    1. On the other Acer laptop, open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    2. powercfg /list
    3. This will show you a list of all power plans with their GUIDs. Look for the "Acer Optimized" plan and note its GUID (it will look something like this: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx).
    4. powercfg -export "C:\AcerPowerPlan.pow" <GUID>
    5. Replace <GUID> with the actual GUID you noted earlier. The path C:\AcerPowerPlan.pow means you are saving the exported file to your C: drive. You can keep it simple by using C:\AcerPowerPlan.pow.
    6. Transfer the Exported File:
      • Use a USB drive or any file transfer method to move AcerPowerPlan.pow from the other Acer laptop to your TMP414RN-53.
    7. Import the Power Plan on Your TMP414RN-53:
      • On your TMP414RN-53, open Command Prompt as an administrator.
      • powercfg -import "C:\AcerPowerPlan.pow"
      • Again, ensure that you have placed the AcerPowerPlan.pow file in the root of your C: drive. If you saved it in a different location, adjust the path accordingly (e.g., if you saved it in a folder called "Plans" on your Desktop, you would use "C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Desktop\Plans\AcerPowerPlan.pow").
    8. Verify the Import:
      • After importing, check in Control Panel > Power Options to see if the Acer power plan appears.

    Example Paths

    • "C:\AcerPowerPlan.pow"
    • "C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Desktop\Plans\AcerPowerPlan.pow"Replace <YourUsername> with your actual Windows username.

    Final Note

Make sure to keep quotes around paths that contain spaces (like folder names). If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask!

Nope, but it might be better than the generic one that you replaced the original with when doing the Windows reset. If you don't have access to a machine that has the original power plan on it then the only option to get it back in full is to restore to the factory image. Since doing a Windows reset, or Windows upgrade, rather than an Acer reset wipes out the factory image, you would have to purchase a recovery image from Acer.
