Hi2all,

After a successful WIN11 upgrade this OS wanted me to update some drivers.

Result:

Some sophisticated WIN11 issue made the BIOS to beep twice after power on -an then halt - with no screen support and no F2 or whatever access to the BIOS menue.

After enforced power off, the PC switches on again and does the same: after double beep: nothing.

Is there a hack to return to a factory setting of the BIOS? Grateful for hints and solutions!!

(The removal of the backup battery was not successful btw.)

Hi ZedMan, you should not have installed any drivers as Windows11 upgrade does that automatically at the background during the installation process, what may have gone wrong is the firmware upgrade. You can't rollback BIOS and you wrote that you tried resetting the CMOS so all you can do now is bringing the desktop to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to 2018 factory default and upgrade to Windows11 again. Perhaps update first BIOS.

No OS based changes will affect POST, and the beeps are during POST, well before the OS tries to load. Here are the beep codes for your system:

So, one long and one short says the BIOS is damaged. First step is to perform a CMOS reset:

Remove the jumper block and set it over the 2-3 pins for 20 to 30 seconds.
Return the jumper block to its default 1-2 position.

Then try to turn it on again. If it comes up enough to get back into the BIOS, reset to factory defaults with an F9, then save and exit with an F10.

    Thx billsey!

That jumper idea was the hint I needed.
