Bluetooth option completely gone after update

Hello all,

My computer did a windows update yesterday and this morning my bluetooth keyboard and mouse would not respond. When I checked to see what the problem was it says that the bluetooth is turned off. When I go into devices, there is no option to click on for bluetooth anylonger and the bluetooth troubleshooter tells me that bluetooth is not available on my device and to use an adapter (which doesn't work either by the way). I'm just trying to see if there is a definitive way to see if there is an issue with the computer or if it is the update. I've already shut down, restarted and all of that usual stuff with no change. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What is the exact model of your laptop as then we can give you a more precise answer? If your Bluetooth is not visible in Device Manager then you need to reinstall your laptops Bluetooth driver again (get the driver from Acer Support page).

First go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program and uninstall the Bluetooth that is there then reinstall the new BT driver again and you should have a BT for your mouse and keyboard, it’s a simple process.

If the Bluetooth is shown in Device Manager then do this to refresh the driver:

    • Device Manager > Bluetooth > BT adapter name like Killer or MTK etc > Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > and then pick the last Bluetooth driver that is in that list, and reinstall that driver, as afterwards your Bluetooth will work.

Its good that its fixed. Always Open "Settings" and go to "Devices" > "Bluetooth & other devices." Turn off Bluetooth and wait for a few seconds, then turn it back on. This will fix most of the Issue with Bluetooth.
