When headphones unplugged, there is no sound from the inbuilt speakers.

My daughter pulled the headphone cable out, because she wanted

both of us to hear the barbie track. But it is completely silent.

    That should switch automatically in Window depending on version and PC, Open Realtek Audio Console and manually switch from Headset to Speakers.

    Under Output Devices it only lists one option Speakers (Realtek ® Audio).

    When the headset (it is speaker only headset, no mike) through which I can hear the You Tube

    track; is plugged in, it does not even recognise that the headset is plugged in.

    Mute and volume controls operate normally for the headset.

    Without that headset being plugged in, I don't even get the windows start up beep.

    What speakers do you have attached? Desktops can do beeps but not real sound without speakers.
