How to fix “There is an Error in the SMART detection” (Acer XC-1760 Series Desktop)?

When I load up my PC , I get a message saying “abnormal status reported by rapid storage technology uefi driver”.
After that, I get a full Information of BIOS and stuff about my desktop and at end there is message says “There is an Error in SMART detection”.
At the end of page/screen, I’m given two options Either open BIOS Menu or continue which result it to say “reboot and Select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Device and press key” .
My BIOS menu is Version 2.22.1282 , 2002-2022 , Acer Inc. and on top it says “BIOS Setup Utility” and I given 6 Tabs/Options: Main , Advanced , Power , Security , Boot Options and Exit.
Please help to fix my PC!

    The ERROR of “there is an error in the SMART detection” is built in error warning that your boot drive is on its way out and has failed or its damaged. You need to buy a new M.2 SSD PCIe3x4 type boot drive and reinstall Win-11 version OS 23H2 onto this new drive to get your desktop going again, and afterwards I suggest that you update the bios also to the last 2023 version bios R01-B1 and of course do all the windows updates and appropriate updates for this desktop

    Note: If you have valuable data on the old M.2 SSD boot drive of your XC-1760 then take the boot dive out AND DON’T TRY TO RECOVER ANY DATA with the cheap online recovery software as they don’t work and you will lose/destroy your valuable data. Take your failed boot hard drive to an established (not to just a repair technician) but to a specialist Data Recovery Technician that specialize in recovering hard drive data, as these people will recover 100% to very close to that percentage of your data. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Thanks for information but I have HDD rather than SSD , will it be same method to buy new HDD or get SSD ?

    I did get M2 SSD , after implemented it and removed old HDD i get pop up message saying “please select proper boot device” only do what I do now ?

    Your best bet is to get a SSD for the M.2 slot as Steven suggested, it'll be a lot faster than just dropping another HDD in. You can try the clone process from the old drive to the new one if it hasn't failed all the way. If it has failed then you need to reinstall the OS using a flash drive with the Windows install image on it. You will also want the IRST drivers from Acer's support site extracted to a folder on that drive. Boot from the install flash drive, choose to install and when it gets to the 'where to install' part, load the drivers so the drive will appear. Select the full unallocated space and let it do it's thing. Once you get it back up and activated you can reinstall the Acer utilities from the Acer support site as well.
