Laptop is Acer Swift 2019. First, I have set screen display up in Win 10 for extended display.

When using Power Point I use F5 to launch slide show, a slide out menu comes out from right side, I press extend display to 2nd screen. Nothing happens, but if press again, the whole power point presentation reverses to other screen. However, if under "Slide Show" menu in PPt, if I manually click "Start Slide Show" it operates perfectly normally, leaving presentation view on laptop and sending the presentation slides to the 2nd screen.

These same slides work correctly on my desktop PC by using F5. Interestingly when F6 is pressed the laptop goes blank, and nothing happens on the 2nd screen.

In desperation, I have reinstalled windows 10, and Office 365, but still the same presentation issue. Have others encountered this problem? A I am missing something here.

[Edited the thread to add model number to the title and add issue detail]

OK, I think that is an Australian model in blue, right? If so it likely uses the UK keyboard rather than the US/International:

If it does use the US keyboard, it's:

I don't believe they offered that model without a backlit keyboard, but they did offer it in gold and white…

Do you have your keys setup as media keys or function keys? You don't tell us just which model of Swift you have, so I can't look at the keymaps. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFxxx-xxx-xxxx. Most have the ability to change those key behaviors in the BIOS.

Hi Billsey, Many thanks, I got there with the clues. It was actually the BIOS setting had F keys on media, so now changed and working correctly. I am in New Zealand, fairly close to Australia.. :-) Thanks again, much appreciated.

Yes, on a lot of those models, but not all, there is a BIOS option to switch between media keys and function keys as the default. I always set mine to function keys, since I really only use the media keys to set volume, and pressing the Fn isn't too much of a burden for that. :)
