Hello, I just bought an Acer Swift Go 14 SFG14-73. I was playing a game but the keyboard randomly stopped working so they likely just pressed one key. However, the touchpad is working and the system is not freezing but when I try to restart, the screen is just black and never restarted. The only way to restart is hard resetting by pressing the power button. I reinstalled the driver and updated Windows, but the problem still exists. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the game crashed… Do you see the same symptoms ever when not running the game?

I'm also using an Acer Swift Go 14 SFG14-73, and this problem is also happening to me. Until now I haven't found a solution to the problem. This problem really bothers me.

No, I don't. Maybe a heavy workload causes this problem? But since the game still moving while I use a mouse, I think the game has not crashed.

Just some further advice and what I've experienced with the Swift 14" laptop. The Swift 14" laptops are a very powerful laptop, and they do bottleneck with their gaming performance, so be aware of that first, they also overheat. I'm using a Swift X SFX14-51G-7003 model that is a sort of a gaming laptop that has some pretty impressive specs like, 16GB LPDDR5 ram and an i7-1260P cpu and RTX3060 gpu and this happened to my Swift also, what I did is to do a clean install of Win-11 as when I got my laptop it didn't have the Win-11 23H2 version so and after I upgraded the OS and all the updates of both Intel and NVidia and updated the bios the random shut downs and faults stopped completely, so I would try to the same and see if it works for your Swift Go 14" model. Good luck and hope this helps out.

I've got the same laptop and the exact same issue, when I was playing minecraft, they keyboard stops working whilst my mouse does. To get out I had to click a crafting table to bring up my cursor. I've had this issue twice, only holding down the power for 60 seconds works, when I clicked restart it didn't work, just turned black. I've had this issue twice

Acar has just recently updated the latest BIOS about the keyboard function that is optimize, have you tried it?. A fact that I also experienced a similar problem and after the BIOS update so far there are still no errors on my keyboard.

You go to the Acer support site for your locale, then enter the model number (SFG14-73). Under Drivers you should find a BIOS section.

I've tried upgrading the BIOS through AcerSense, but it always fails.

This is the SFG14-73 bios < download this link and install the official Acer bios version 1.06 which is the last Swift SFG14-73 laptops bios, its a very simple thing if you do the bios flash properly, so be careful, as every bios flash has the potential of bricking your laptop or PC and should only be done to fix what the new bios flashs fixes as all Acer bios are accumulative. Good luck.

Any updates from Acer? My coworkers and I bought this laptop and we are experiencing the same issue. The keyboard stops working, and when we try to restart the laptop, it just shows a black screen. We need to force shut it down to make it work again, which is not advisable.

It seems the issue was with the BIOS, so the newer versions deal with it handily.

You only need to go to the Acer Care Center website >> Drivers and Manuals >> input the laptop's serial number, namely SFG14-73 >> then scroll down and you can see the BIOS select Veris 1.06. or directly press the link below. Maybe the problem with this Latop Acer keyboard lies in the BIOS not because of an error during a Windows update
