I'm having trouble with fingerprint recognition. After setting it up it only works for about a day before I have to set it up again. Has anyone else had this problem?

What computer do you have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. What OS are you running? Have you installed all updates? When you trained it to recognize your fingerprint, did you move your finger around enough during the training to get it to see various positions best?

My laptop is an Acer Swift X 14, it is running Win 11 Pro and is fully updated. The fingerprint reader is working, I keep moving my finger around each time until it says it's all set up. It then recognises my finger for a day or two before saying my fingerprint is not recognised. I've tried cleaning it but it makes no difference.

Yes, it happened to me a lot with my old Aspire5 a515-54G. Ended up not using Windows Hello anymore, no one else has access to my laptops so I don't use pin, password or Hello to logon (administrator MS account). I am using the same Swift (Swift X SFX14-51G-7003), the FP sensor gets dirty/greasy quickly and you have to wet wipe the sensor a lot (I live in the tropics and often snack while working) PIN also has issues. "The fingerprint sensor is inconsistent" according to a review: https://www.windowscentral.com/hardware/laptops/acer/acer-swift-x-14-sfx14-71g-review

I got the exact same problem!! I bought this laptop a week ago. Was really looking forward to working on an Acer. But I'm considering sending it back as the finger print sensor is bugging. It also makes a weird mechanical noise on start up sometimes when I lift the laptop. That happened 3 times over the last 7 days.
