Recently my Chromebook has been experiencing slower internet speeds than all other devices in my house. In the same room smart phones, an iPad, and a TV all have strong connections with speeds around 200 MBps. My Chromebook has a strong signal but speed tests vary between 3-12 MBps.

I've been researching DNS settings, clearing extensions, cache, etc. but so far cannot figure out why the Chromebook is significantly slower despite having a strong connection signal. Attached is a screenshot of the Chromebook connectivity diagnostic test where everything passed.

Hi @Snorlax143 what speed do you have contracted with your internet service company?
What type of Wi-Fi do you use, the 2.5 Ghz network or the 5 Ghz network?

    All the best.

    300 MBps. I have the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands enabled.

It is only possible to obtain Wi-Fi speeds close to those contracted using the 5 Ghz network.
The speeds you mention are taken with what type of network. the 2.4 Ghz or the 5 Ghz?
In any case, they seem very low to me even to connect with the 2.4 Ghz network.
Before this problem, did you have higher speeds?
How do I take that speed data, is there any reliable internet page?

    All the best.

A Chromebook's poor performance is frequently caused by installing too many extensions. As a result, you should inspect your extensions and remove any redundant ones. Running apps and extensions you don't need may slow down your Chromebook by taking up too much storage space and causing webpages to load sluggishly. Try this to uninstall unnecessary apps and extensions: Open a new browser tab and type “chrome:extensions" into the address bar.

What Chromebook do you have? Which WLAN card is installed? Speeds that low would be unusual, unless the laptop were either a long distance from the router or had some sort of obstacle between them that attenuated the signal.

I was able to access the various channels and turned off the 2.4 GHz channel and the Chromebook immediately went up to the 200+ MBps on the 5 GHz channel. Thanks.
