Orion 3000 p03-650 with Noctua NH-U9S. Is it fully compatible with the p03-650 model?

Hi everyone!

I recent got the Predator Orion 3000 p03-650, intel i7 13700f, rtx 4060ti.

I've had it about 2 weeks and quickly discovered, as seems to be a common occurrence, the cpu fans are shocking. I just wanted to ask on here about if the Noctua NH-U9S was fully compatible with the p03-650 model as most of the threads on here are about the p03-620 or 630 models. I'm new to PC gaming (hence the pre-built) and really don't want to buy the wrong thing; sinking more money into this miserable box of hardware than I already have lol.

any advice on this is greatly appreciated thank you!!

awesome! thank you, idle with the predator sense on auto im running about 60-70°c (i've checked task manager and theres nothing that should be causing that) i read a comment on here someone put about manually setting the fans to 60% 62% 64% 60% and on idle with thats its about 40-50°c.

Gaming, i havent tried too many yet many because im scared with the current cpu fan it might overheat, but when i did try when i first bought it it was easily getting to 90-97°c. im going to get that fan soon now and may also change the exhaust fan as ive read that can also help.

Yes, the NH-U9S is compatible with the PO3-650. Noctua made a change to their design when the new 1700 sockets came out to support both the new and old CPUs. What temperatures are you running at idle and at full blown gaming?

The only thing that happens if you are running hot is the system will throttle the CPU speed to back off from full power. You won't damage anything. 60°C isn't terribly out of line if the fans are set in one of the quieter modes. In gaming mode that would be high, but the fans would be really loud. The Noctua will help a lot, giving you an extra 15-20°C of breathing room.

Thats good to hear, thanks! I was also just wondering will I still be able to control the noctua fans with predator sense? and if not is there a dedicated software for noctua fans or a recommended one? thank you :)
