  • If your computer was shipped with window 7, you may acesses the recovery partition using the below mentioned steps:

Use the following steps to start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt, and the F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After the Acer eRecovery Management application has loaded, select your restore type.
    5. Read the notice, and then click Next when you are ready.
    6. Click Next to begin the restore process.

I havd a weird flashing scream for a while after loading new drivers. Figured it was a graphics confllict so hit ctrl-alt-del and got a normal choice scream. Selected "switch users" then signed in again and was nermal.

Cannot see any instructions on screen after the Acer Logo comes up... Windows 8 ( 4 blue panes ) logo, and the working prompt ( revolving circular bubbles ), then a blank screen flashes Grey to Black continuously...

I'm not very computer literate... but if I can get to the recovery screen, then I would probably be better off, and could probably work myself through recovery using Windows recovery... But Everything Windows 8 is new to me, and now I only have a blank flashing screen to work with...

Alt-F10 prompt at Acer Logo does not do anything... blank screen , flashing, flashing, flashing ... etc.

Thanks! I'll keep studying the forums...

You're probably close... but I can't get to any instructional "Scream", to search for solution... but with a new install of Windows 8, and new updating of VGA screen driver, I probably have a conflict between the new driver and the graphics card... but I can't see anything except a blinking screen...

    Thanks!

Since my laptop was new, just after cleaning its keyboard, some keys aren't working correctly. They must be pushed hard to work, and the upper narrow is missing. I would like to replace the keyboard or the keys. What could i do?

Rikki, I'm sorry that you're having this problem. When you upgraded from 7 to 8, you lost your drivers. Your recovery disk might have been erased.

Try the suggestions on this forum, and if all else fails, take it to a computer shop. They have a program that will legally force its way into your operating system, and they can download the drivers for you. It should cost about $40.

    Vince53,

Thanks... I'll give it a couple more days of trying to find Online solution, before driving it 70 miles to my favorite Computer Repair Shop...

Lot's of information to try to digest... I was just hoping for a quick fix, but it appears I'm out of luck!

Rikki, I would try to get your original operating system restored.
