Why wont my ACER Aspire TC-1780 recognise 32GB memory?

Member Posts: 2 New User

I have tried to replace the existing Predator 2 x 8GB RAM with 2 x 16GB of Crucial RAM. Both types are DDR4-3200 1.2V CL22. PC will run with 1 x 16GB no problem. Will also run with 1 x16GB Crucial plus 1X 8GB Predator. With 2 x 16GB Crucial it wont boot just continuous beeping.

That should work, only explanation is that the two 16GB Crucial modules are not identical, not a kit, and therefore won't run in Dual Channel mode, but that should still boot. Can you send the modules back and ask for a new kit?

Get the Acer recommended ram from the TC-1780 desktops SG, which is a DDR4-3200MHz Kingston ram like below, the Acer part # is highlighted.

    Hi,

thanks for your replies. I ordered the modules together and just expected them to work. I think i can return them, will then try the Kingston part above.

    Cheers

We've seen several users with issues using Crucial memory over the last year or so… No idea why.

Could you please post the Kingston PN? I cannot read the image due to the low resolution.

Perhaps this is easier to read:

Those are the 4G, 8G and 16G modules that shipped with the model.
