I have an Acer Aspire 5, i-5. It still has an Intel 512 GB Factory NVME drive.

When I run Crucial Resource Manager software it SHOWS that this drive is 100 FILLED.

But in fact the drive has about 100 GB used and the rest of 512 GB EMPTY.

But it shows the Crucial SATA SSD as EMPTLY, which IS CORRECT.

Anyone else have this experience??

The drive and the PC are working as they should. (knock on wood)

Thanks ahead of time.

By the way, Crucial System Scanner does NOT seem to work.

It just cycles over and over and does not show any information or recommendations.

    Cheers

I am running Windows 11. (Original Software)

Do you have a screenshot of the software?

I have photos of "This PC", "Storage Exec", and "Drive Info".

How do I get them from Google to Windows???

What is wrong with this picture?

Just to repeat the question, in case it is not obvious:

Windows (This PC) says I have used 105 GB of my factory (512 GB) drive.

The Crucial App seems to think that same 512 GB Intel drive is completely full.

Easy solution: Delete Crucial Storage Exec.

    Any other suggestions?

    AnhEZ28,

I got photos up to illustrate my question. See what you think.

I can always use CPU-Z and Speccy. Those are pretty detailed, as well.

    Cheers!

That software might not work well with different SSD brand for showing information.

That's a funny thing to say.

The first advice I ever got on this blog was: "Run Crucial System Scan."

    @KanagawaTomasu

"Run Crucial System Scan" is used for checking the system parts such as memory and storage to provide the appropriate upgrade parts.

Yes, I know the difference between Crucial System Scan and Crucial Storage Executive.

Crucial gets recommended for almost everything.

I just found it odd that both of these programs are NOT working on my Acer laptop.

    Latest update . . . . NO Progress.

I have upgraded the RAM, installed a secondary SATA SSD, (Both Crucial).

My "New and Improved" SK Hynix, Gold P31 (Gen 3 x 4) NVME . . . STILL SHOWS as completely FULL.

USED UP in the Crucial "Storage Executive" APP.

In addition, (I did not notice before) The Crucial MX 500 SATA SSD shows as "Drive 0" even though it is EMPTY. Windows 11 is installed on the SK Hynix NVME Drive.

What is wrong with this picture?

One more note: I sent emails to Crucial about the issue.

IF they answer my question ie. correct this problem….

I will post the technical correction here.

    We shall see.

The response from Crucial was as follows:

    1. Reset the partitions on the Crucial SATA drive. (To what end? I am not sure.)
    2. Ignore the incorrect use indicator (in the primary NVME drive) and continue using the Storage Executive App.

    That's all folks.

Think I will try another brands drive management software.

One final irritation with Crucial Storage Exec software.

I now have different drives, a Samsung NVME and a Samsung SATA SSD.

I am now running Samsung Magician (Drive Management Software).

I cannot COMPLETELY delete Crucial Storage Exec. I get an error message when I try.

If I wasn't convinced to can them before, I am now.

    Cheers!
