I recently bought this laptop with a Ryzen 5 6600H processor, 8 GB DDR5 4800 RAM and an RTX 3050 4 GB. While I was finding out about the maximum upgrade for RAM and SSD I came across different information.

On the one hand, the information that I have found in forums about what Acer provides in terms of 2x 16GB DDR5 4800 RAM (32 GB total) and 1 TB of M.2 NVMe Gen4x4 2280 SSD.

My question is regarding the information provided by the Crucial page that allows you 2x32 GB and an SSD of up to 2 TB per slot. Previously I read that there were those who managed to install a

2TB SSD. Would it only be compatible with this brand (Crucial) or could it be any other?

For example, the Acer GM7 NVMe SSD, 2TB, PCI Express 4.0, M.2 7200MB/6300 MB and the Crucial 32GB DDR5-4800 SODIMM

Any brand of Gen3/4 NVME card or DDR5 RAM should work fine. Just that Crucial parts are usually supplied by Micron, the best in the business. Micron parts are competitively priced with the not quite so good brands that might be a few bucks cheaper.

    Updating the post….

I bought an NVMe Gen 4x4 2TB Acer Predator GM7000 SSD and I have successfully installed it in my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-46, which at the moment I have not had any problems starting the OS and the games run very well.
