I just started using the monitor. I like it, but it does not respond to the control signal
from the display controller to automatically shift the monitor to power-saving mode. Is there a way to set the monitor itself to go into this mode after a specified amount of time, or must I always turn it off myself?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You can try enabling or disabling "USB Selective Suspend" in Windows Advanced Power Plan settings.

    To Puraw:

Thanks for the advice, and sorry for the delayed reply. I thought I would get an email alerting me to any responses to my post, so I just now happened across your answer. I'm running Windows 7, so no Advanced Power Plan settings. I should have mentioned that in my post. Any other thoughts? I think I'll also try contacting Acer support. Thanks again for the reply.

I just played around and found a Windows 7 setting (Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings) that enabled me to have my monitor sleep after a time of my choosing. I have a laptop and thought that setting would only affect the laptop's screen and that there was a second setting for the external display. Well, I was wrong about that. Hope this info might be of help to someone else.
