Dear community friends,

I had recently brought a Acer predator Helios Neo 16 laptop.after 2 months it has an overheating issue.i raised the complaint to the Acer and they accepted the request for repairing the laptop.when technician arrived to my house he repaste the thermal paste but this laptop comes with liquid metal.he had only normal thermal paste .so I requested him to don't open the heat sink without liquid metal but he didn't hear that.he opened the heat sink and he put normal thermal paste to GPU but incase of cpu he didnt do anything.he left unpasted.when the laptop is on idle ,temp is about 67 degree Celsius it is ridiculous .then I complaint this issue to Acer .they verified and they accepted to change the motherboard of this laptop.my question is that new motherboard is genuine one or not .

Second question is that new motherboard will solve my heating issue

My model :phn 16-71

Intel i9 13900hx

Rtx 4070

Thanks

The motherboard does not have a fake one. Did you try to tell Acer to get the liquid metal and replace it? Replacing the motherboard usually causes an unidentified model name and serial number, but it is still a genuine one with the same specifications.

Yes I asked him to bring both the thermal paste but the engineer only brought normal thermal paste.

Oh 😱 model no will differ ?.how can I order the spare if the motherboard once again become malfunction.

    One more question my friend

Do you know the cost of the lower bottom case of exact same laptop model ?

A new mainboard is the same as what you have before, it might be that the old mainboard had certain issues with its cpu/gpu and a new mainboard wil fix that but its not guaranteed. You have to remember that these gaming laptop work at hot temps when gaming as they are a laptop with high end specs of a cpu and a gpu and they cant be cooled down as well as in a desktop with the same temps.

Ok dude I understand.anyway desktop>laptops .but in idle CPU temp goes about 67 degree

That is ridiculous dude .for this reason only I raised the issue.due to poor installation of thermal paste and liquid metal lead to this issues .

The new motherboard replacement from Acer usually doesn't have the model name programmed in it.

Is your residence location far from the local Acer center? If not, you can bring the laptop in and ask to see if they can change the liquid metal for you.

Also, you can ask them the bottom cover replacement cost.
