Hi everyone,

I just got a new laptop, the Predator Helios Neo 16, and while site I bought it from only mentioned 2x 1TB drives I just found out that it is in a raid 0 format. I would really like to delete the raid 0, but there are no option in my BIOS, I can't access the intel rom menu etc.

While 2TB is okay for now, I might want to upgrade the SSD later on. Can anyone help me?

This is the model number and processor, it also has the RTX 4070 and 32GB RAM.

Enter the BIOS menu MAIN page. Press Ctrl+S. Is the VMD controller disabled or enabled? Just answer the question. Don't try to change the value right now.

If the BIOS raid hotkey option described in this link is available with VMD controller enabled, it should be possible to keep the Acer OEM factory Windows installation and the hidden OEM recovery partition.

Otherwise, the OEM installation would likely have to be overwritten with a generic Microsoft Windows version preferrably with VMD disabled for better flexibility if future changes/upgrades are anticipated.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately Acer won't allow the hotkey inside of the BIOS so will have to keep it this way and rely more on external for the time being. Don't want to get a generic windows version yet. :)
