Hello, will the Acer docking station with USB-C power be supported in a laptop without Thunderbolt or does it need to be a docking station with external power supply?
Which one to choose?

USB Type-C is the go-to connector for charging most new devices, including smartphones, game controllers, earbud cases, microphones, and laptops. Its form factor is small, oblong, and reversible, allowing it to be plugged in either way (take that, USB-A!). If you’re looking for a versatile and efficient charging solution, USB Type-C is the way to go! Read this as it explains it What is Thunderbolt, and how is it different from USB-C? Hope this helps you out.

I know how Thunderbolt works, because if I had it, I wouldn't buy a docking station, but the question is: will it work properly if I connect several monitors via USB-C to the docking station, or will a docking station with its own power supply from the power supply be better and more reliable?
