Aspire v3 772G won't run on battery alone

Hi all!
Just received my new computer.
The computer is great, but I have one problem:
Pc will not run on battery power alone. When I take out the plug, the computer turns off, just as it would If there were no battery there at all.
Battery life is 88%.
When I disconnect the power, the pc won't turn on.
Is this a setting, or is the PC fubar?

If you still have time to replace it or return it do it now, the v3 u got is defected for sure.

Was hoping it was just a setting of some type
