Hello!

I unfortunately couldn't find an answer to my question, so I decided to ask for your help directly.

On the photos you can see almost in detail the location of two thermal pads on the power supply elements of the video card.

Unfortunately, the laptop is under warranty now and there is no possibility to look at the thickness of these two thermal pads in the most convenient way. Looking at one of them from one angle, it seems to be 2-2.5 mm thick. If you look from the corner of the thermal pad - 1-1.5 mm. Which value I should believe, I can't understand.

Please help me to determine the exact thickness of the thermal pads. I hope that among you there are people who have faced with service of this laptop model.

Hello, where did you find the service manual? I need help with the thermal pad. I want to change the dough-like material inside, but I don't know the necessary dimensions.

  • I'm sorry, but I don't have direct access to download the manual. Acer only allowed me to consult it in private mode (it's not publicly accessible) and take screenshots, but in recent weeks I have stopped having access to the manuals due to a technical problem and I don't know when it will be resolved. In any case, the service manual does not usually indicate the thickness of the pads or the thermal pads. I'm sorry I can't be of help at this time. I recommend that you ask the question again in a new thread to receive more answers that may help you.

    Greetings.

Thanks for your answer. I thought it would be more effective to use thermal pads instead of thermal paste. I think I will try to use a substance similar to paste and measure it myself with a caliper. I applied liquid metal to the CPU and GPU chipset, but in the test applications, thermal throttling still occurs and the processor is stuck at the limit. I think the copper block has insufficient cooling.
