Hey guys! I'm not a new Acer laptops user but I'm new to this forum. I recently bought a new Acer Ultrabook Aspire S3. I only have one inquiry at the moment. It's regarding the battery - as we know Acer Aspire S3 comes with a built-in battery. My question is, would the laptop stop charging itself once the battery is full if I keep the charger intact? Or would it be harmful to the battery if I keep the charger plugged in even when the laptop is fully charged? Please enlighten me. Thank you.

Well i've been using an aspire v5 for 2 months now and i keep in charging like whenever i'm using it. I think there is no problem to keeping it plugged and since the battery doesn't get heated i think it's not charging all the time. Just when it goes down from 100% does it charge. Just my own opinion.

I've been reading reviews as well but I got nothing regarding the matter so I was really hoping to get the answer from Acer forum thinking that I would get enlightened by someone who really know about Acer laptops like in the back of their hands. I'm just worried I'd harm my battery life. But anyway, thanks Larkie. Smiley Happy

Leaving your S3 plugged in after the battery has fully recharged is probably not "harmful to the battery." But it may be harmful to the adapter...in fact, I am wondering if that was not the catalyst for the problem I am currently enduring with my own S3.

I only bought it a few months ago & as I did with previous laptops I kept it plugged in at home, hooked up to a 32 inch monitor and only use it on battery when I travel. But one day I noticed one of the two blue lights was dark and the screen went dark soon after. Battery depleted to zero (or close to it) and adapter ceased recharging and no longer powers unit. Did the adapter burn out from leaving it plugged into a fully charged battery all the time?  These permanently fixed batteries dont seem to work like others...or do they?
