I'm facing this issue since some months. I have no background apps running. And when I recall, a year ago, the most my lap would drain is like around 10% for 12hrs. but this drain is too much.

    Change your power Plan from "Best Performance" to "Balanced" and Reset the Power Plan to factory defaults. Turn off "USB Selective Suspend" feature in Windows Power Plan, Advanced settings. Uninstall or disable all Acer Quick Access and Acer Care Center options. In Device Manager, Network adapter, click on the Wi-Fi driver and in properties-Power Management disable (clear the box) "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" do the same for USB controllers and Bluetooth.
    Disable Hibernate and Fast Startup in Power Plan "Change what closing the lid does" and "Change settings currently not available". How old is your battery, if more than 3-4 years it may have dead cell(s) and only a fraction from the design capacity, check the condition with Windows Battery Report. After 6 hours sleep the laptop will switch automatically to Hibernate mode, better shut down for longer periods.

    mine is around 2 years old. I'll try to change the power plan like you said and give it a go.

    It improved nothing, the battery drain is still terrible.

    please tell me if looking into some logs would help to find the error.
    journalctl equivalent in windows or smth, how to look at them and diagnose the problem further!!

    @Puraw Look at this
    8 hrs, 42 min uptime in linux (arch), and just 5% drain.
    it's 50% in windows!! just mind boggling…
    I kept my lap on sleep, and went to college., (the middle and the last screenshot)

    see? just 5% drain. Windows has become really bad these days…

    You can't compare Android OS to the Windows platform, if you prefer Android you should buy an Apple laptop.
