Does anyone know if the new Active Pen is compatible with last year's Aspire r7's?  Should we expect these to come available for sale in the near future?

I was wondering the exact same thing my friend, I cant see why not.

They didn't say anything about upgrading the screen, only the stylus. So for now I am assuming (hoping) that it will be for the old one as well.

Wish they had a trade in program...

In order for this type of pen to work (with palm rejection) there needs to be a digitizer layer that the original did not have. Original R7 owners are stuck with using capacitive pens. Acer does offer a nice one with a very precise point and disk style tip... I have seen it in a few reviews. Hope this helps, sorry its not the answer you were looking for.
