Nitro AN515-54 RAID CONFIGURATION FAILURE WITH INTEL OPTANE MEMORY AND STORAGE MANAGEMENT

Hello. I have installed two 1tb ssd, installed windows 11 on one of them, the proper rst controller driver, and Intel optane memory and storage management. I'm getting an immediate error when attempting to create the raid 0. The bios sata mode is set correctly, in fact it is greyed out reading "rst premium with optane". Am I missing something, or is this configuration just not possible/ compatible. Thanks.

Sorry. Wrong Intel link. Did you follow these instructions to try to resolve this error code?

Thank you for offering a solution, Jack! I was able to find the solution. After my original posting, I read this; https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000056917/memory-and-storage/intel-optane-memory.html which refers to the need for minumum of 5mb unallocated partition at the end of the disks. I created an unallocated partition a the end of both ssds @ approx. 15mb. I'm not sure why I picked 15, but I imagine 5 was all that was needed. At that point IOMSM was able to complete the Raid 0, which took 10-20 minutes. The disk still showed 1tb in windows, so I saw that the 2nd ssd was still unallocated after the creation of the raid, but was part of Disk 0. Next step was to format that partition(the 2nd ssd) and finally merge it with the OS ssd. Then, the one raid drive showed in windows, equal to the capacity of the two ssd added together. AOMEI partition assistant was the freeware I used to work with the partitions. Hopefully this post will help anyone else deciding to mod their an515-54 with a raid config.

Thanks for reporting back. Glad you sorted it out. The Intel link that I first posted by mistake referred to a user who had the same EoD unallocated space problem but not for a RAID0 setup. The solution turned out to be essentially the same as you found.🙂
