Change source order on Acer R241Y monitor? It goes from HDMI, to VGA and then lastly, DVI

I am still running an Acer R241Y monitor. Whilst not exactly new or anything special, I like it and see no reason to replace it. But one annoyance for me (and that's all it is really) is, is there a way to change the source/input detection order?

It goes from HDMI, to VGA and then lastly, DVI - I use DVI, so my connection is detected last. This is a pain because when troubleshooting I like to be able to see any BIOS messages (and I am having some issues at the moment) but because my screen goes off, then goes through this order of HDMI, VGA and then DVI, by the time has initialised, the computer is in Windows.

Is there anything I'm missing in the (quite frankly overly hard to use) OSD menu?

Thanks!

According to the user manual, you should set the input to DVI instead of auto:

Thanks for getting back to me.

I just had a look at the menu, which as I said is incredibly fiddly to use and unintuitive. I don't seem to have an auto option under the selection of "input", it is already on DVI.

I wondered if I'd have to do it with the PC turned off and the monitor turned on, but again there doesn't seem to be an auto option anywhere unfortunately. Is there something I've missed do you think? You'd certainly think it'd be possible to set the default input/source.

If the DVI video at the computer side isn't done initializing when the monitor comes on, it will switch to an auto cycle until I finally sees a signal. It should start with DVI, but since the port hasn't come up it will go on to other options, and finally get back to DVI. If you bring the computer up a couple of seconds before the monitor the video should have had enough time to initialize before the monitor checks for signal.
