My network card disappeared after a recent update on my ACER NITRO 50 UR11. How do I get it back ? I can connect thru wi-fi which I rather not

    Unfortunately, I apparently never created a restore point.

    That doesn't matter if System Protection was turned on. An automatic restore point may be created by an errant update that caused the problem. So, did you check to see if System Protection was turned on?

    Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. If System Protection is turned on in the box that pops up, click System Restore button. Click next. Do you see a restore point with a date stamp about when the card disappeared?

    Unfortunately, I apparently never created a restore point.
    I did go to device manager then add hardware then network adapters, but I don't remember which one was installed on my computer.
    It's been a few years since I've played around with computers.
    A decent backup/restore point coming as soon as I correct this problem.

    Problem solved !
    I read somewhere they fixed the problem by turning the power off then removing the ram for a minute, then re-stalling it.
    I figured it wouldn't hurt so I tried it.
    It worked !
