I have reviewed recent posts on this forum to avoid replicating existing questions.

I bought a Nitro AN515-57 (pn NH.QESEK.004), with Windows 11 Home. Connected it to a Dell D3100 via USB. My LG monitor connects to the D3100 and too a pair of Creative speakers. All worked fine until recently, at which point I think a Microsoft update changed my Realtek drivers. When I added anything to a USB device, the audio on my system died. It was completely gone. I got an X over the a speaker icon on the system tray. Also the Windows Audio Service could not be restarted. USB ports appeared not to work. I have this error message:

Faulting application name: svchost.exe_Audiosrv, version: 10.0.22621.1, time stamp: 0x6dc5c2a5

When I Google 10.0.22621.1 mentioned in the error, I learn it relates to Windows 11, version 22H2. This is why I suspect the issue is connected to a Windows update. Interestingly, when I check the Acer website for my particular Nitro model the driver version for the Realtek seems to be 6.0.9292.1 (a 1.90GB download for some reason). When I check the version of the Realtek audio driver installed my system, using Driverstore Explorer, it is 6.0.9514.1. Should I delete the 6.0.9514.1 driver and revert to 6.0.9292.1? Would that be a dangerous course of action.

Right now, I have audio working again but the problem happens again when I connect USB devices.

I have a significant update on this issue. I spent many more hours looking at this item. Eventually I decided to backup my laptop and rebuild the laptop. I reinstalled Windows 11 and built it back bit-by-bit. It was worked fine until I connected my Dell D3100 docking station to which my monitor, Logitech camera/microphone, and Creative speakers were attached. Shortly after, my audio problem resurfaced.

I disconnected items from the D3100 and suspicion fell upon the Logitech camera/microphone. I conducted various other tests and each time it pointed to the Logitech camera/microphone. I even connected this directly to my Acer laptop to eliminate the possibility the D3100 was involved. The problem happened again immediately when I connected the Logitech camera/microphone directly.

I located an article online at
https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/14phtgj/webcam_mic_shutting_down_windows_audio_service/ where another person with precisely the same model of Acer Nitro as mine and experienced the same issue. His Logitech device works fine with Window 8, but not with Windows 11 on the Acer Nitro AN515-57.

Summary: On an Acer AN515-57, using Windows 11 Home, Logitech camera/microphone devices can crash the Windows Audio service disabling all audio.

Just an update on the above. I have tried a multitude of things in the interim and the problem persists. In fact the only way I can get the audio to work on my computer is to remove any drivers for Realtek, otherwise I get the message "No audio device is installed".

    Some things I have tried:
    - obtained support from Microsoft, who advised that I contact my vendor if their measures didn't work
    - update BIOS
    - reinstalled different versions of drivers
    - installing drivers using admin privileges
    - running troubelshooters
    - considered formatting the system, but concerned that the issue will just re-appear

I am a complete loss on this issue. I have to entertain the possibility there is a physical hardware problem.

    Hi everyone,

thanks for the thread above as I experience the same issue with my setup:

    - Eizo EV2795 BK 27 Inch
    - Lenovo TP TB3 Workstation Dock Gen 2
    - Lenovo WebCam
    - Acer Aspire A517-58GM (Artikel NX.KJLEG.008)

Basically when connecting Lenovo Docking Station my Acer Audio devices were all gone and I had no any audio devices.

There war this error in Windows 11:

Faulting application name: svchost.exe_Audiosrv, version: 10.0.22621.1, time stamp: 0x6dc5c2a5

After reading the thread and disconnecting the Lenovo WebCam, I can fix audio drivers issue and they work as expected when connected to Lenovo Docking Station. But the Lenovo Web Camera can be used.

In Short: disconnect your WebCam from Docking station, then Audio drivers woudl work even when connected to Docking Station.

Who is about to fix the issue I am not sure (Windows maybe?)

I'm having this same problem with a Nitro 5 I just bought. I have no docking station, but I do have a USB hub and when I have my Logitech c922 webcam connected to it the audio service crashes. I tried disabling the webcam in the device manager, but that didn't help.
