friends… newbie to Acer here, but not to pcs…. have built and repaired a fair number… got a new Aspire 5 (A515-57-53T2) today and wanted to see about what i needed to upgrade my ram to 32gb and add a second m.2 drive… so removed the back and looked at one stick and the m.2 and got my info and put the back back on… now it shows a fully charged state but will not turn on… as said, i've replaced keyboards and ram and drives on more than a few laptops and have built my own pcs for 14 years now; so don't feel i've done something in error.. anyone have any ideas on how to get this started up? i haven't even input the first question it asked me when i first plugged it in.. thanks in advance…

There are two SODIMM slots, which fit 32GB of DDR4 RAM in total. What did you install for 2x !6 GB kit? Avoid any modules with XMP profile, like Kingston HyperX or Corsair modules.

As for the storage, you have two M.2 PCIe x4 slots that support up to 2TB each, one of which supports Gen 4 drives. What SSD did you add and in what slot?

Remove 1 DDR4 module and see if it will boot with 1 x 16Gb.

friends…. thank you all for your help… Puraw reminded me as to rebooting with only one stick of ram and that did the trick.. i have not installed either the new ram nor the second m.2 drive at this time… but it did start up so i can go from there and get my set up done…. so again, thanks for the reminder and your help… much appreciated…. reedb…
