Hello! I am new to this community and I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me with my concern.

I bought an Acer Swift 3 at TechnoMart PH 4 days ago and I just noticed that the internal mic keeps cutting in and out when recording audio. Here are the steps that I have tried so far:

1. Update the Realtek Audio Driver manually.
2. Tried using a headset (wired and BT), but the mic works fine through the headset.
3. Ran Windows updates.
4. Tried using an external camera with built-in microphone > Works fine.
5. Contacted support > no relevant help from them
6. Tried the steps on this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-microphone-problems-5f230348-106d-bfa4-1db5-336f35576011#:~:text=Here's how to do this, sure Windows is hearing you

The same thing happens when on videocall.

What else can I do from my end? Is this a common issue for this model?

Product info:
Swift 3
SF314-42
Ryzen 5 4500U

By the way, could someone help me with the notifications as well? When I first use the laptop, a popup dialogue shows up when I connect a 3.5 mm audio+mic jack. But now, it is no longer showing when I connect a headset. How can I get the popup dialogue back?

All the best,

    Notifications I can help with:
    1. Before you begin, disconnect or unplug your audio device from the audio jack.
    2. Click the Windows key and type in Control Panel, and click it from the search results.
    3. Click Hardware and Sound.
    4. If Realtek HD Audio Manager is available, click it to open.
    5. On the right panel, check if you can see a folder icon or an "i" icon.
    6. Tick the box for Enable auto popup dialog when device has been plugged in option.
    7. Click OK, then OK.
    8. Restart your computer, plug back in your audio device once the computer is up, then check if the auto dialog box appears.
With the cutting in and out issue, since you have proven that an external mic works fine (both with a headset and camera) the issue isn't with drivers, unless there's an auto-level function that mucking with the volume settings to try and minimize background noise. If you can't find anything like that in the Realtek settings see about swapping the unit out with your vendor before their return time has elapsed or contact Acer support again to see about a warranty repair.

Hi Chased, I also have my internal microphone on Acer Swift 3 cutting in and out. Did you get to the bottom of this?

Actually turning off audio enhancements seems to have worked for now…
