When you connect the adapter does the laptop charges?

    Hi Jack22

With the charger in, it boots to the Acer logo and goes off, does it even if the charger is plugged out

But do the charging lights come on and then change color when it's fully charged as normal? If the battery has gone bad and is registering as fully depleted you would potentially get those symptoms.

Good morning. On the side of your laptop there are two power indication lights:

With the computer turned off, when you plug the adapter in does the battery indicator light up amber? When it's been on the charger long enough, does it turn blue?

    Good morning Billsey

When my charger is plugged in, the light is amber, but changes blue immediately, When I unplug the charger it takes long to bootup and when it does, it boots to the Acer logo and goes off immediately

OK, so it's sounding like a battery problem. The battery reports a full charge, but actually doesn't have enough juice to run the system. It's possible the battery actually does have enough power, but just doesn't realize it. Your system is old enough that it doesn't have a battery reset switch on it, so forcing a battery reset isn't as easy, and might not be possible. It's worth trying though before ordering a replacement. Open the case up and disconnect the battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds or so to help bleed off any residual electricity and then wait for a half hour or so before reconnecting the battery. Put the case back together and plug the power back in but don't try turning it on until the indicator switches to blue (hopefully that will take a few minutes). Then turn it on normally to see if there's any difference. If not then it's likely either time for a battery replacement or a newer laptop.
