Hi, Two USB ports (USBC and USB30) suddenly stopped working on the right side of my ACER Swift 5 (SF514-51-58K4). The other USB 3.0 port on the other side is still working. I reinstalledc completely my Windows 10 to no avail. DEvice manager does not report any problems. No exclamation marks. Everything else works just fine.

This happened quite a while ago, but I have been unable to repair it. Please help.

TX

Andy

Unfortunately those are the ones that are soldered directly to the motherboard, the USB, SD card and audio ports on the left side have a cable connecting them to the motherboard. This means the issue is very much more likely to be a motherboard issue instead of a cabling issue and the only real fix is to replace the motherboard. IIRC your machine is now about five years old, so if it were me I'd be looking for a replacement rather than a repair. :(

Thanks billsey, I was hoping for a "cheaper" solution:) For now I am using my left usb with a usb hub; although, I must say that it is sometimes a bother.

    Thx anyway, best
