Acer Nitro AN517-51 - Problems Powering Up After Spill

I spilled water on my Acer Nitro about a week ago. I turned it off and let it dry out for a day. I then tried to turn it on, but nothing. I did a battery reset and disconnected the battery. After letting the laptop sit like this for another day, it powered up on mains power with the battery still disconnected. It seems to work perfectly, but if I leave it with the lid closed too long (overnight), it shuts off completely and I have to do the whole battery reset process again and wait for at least an hour before it will power up again. The battery report shows that the battery is at 100% and seemingly working fine. Any idea what's going on, and how to resolve the issue?
