Predator Triton 17X flashing video and over blown HDR Video problem

Here is the flashing video. It only does it when scrolling.

Here are the overblown HDR videos screenshots:

I have already reset Windows to factory with no user data. I have installed the latest Intel & Nvidia drivers. I have then reinstall the drivers provided on Acer's website. All the same. I have tried it with MS Edge and Google Chrome. Makes no difference (Firefox doesn't support HDR)

What I have found out is that the flashing will stop when going to the BIOS and setting it to the dGPU. Leave me to think there is an issue with BIOS Mux Switching microcode.

But I haven't been able to fix the issue with the over blown videos.

so yesterday I came home and got on to the laptop. The screen was SUPER bright and everything is overblown with very few details. turned the power off by holding the power key and the next boot. no screen. Looks like the panel is dead.

I would not recommend anyone getting anything for Acer. Only due to the fact that Acer's support is useless. Returning it back to the retailer.

All I can see in that video clip of your Predator PTX17-71 is a flickering screen. This problem is due to having the Intel Graphics Command Center > Refresher Setting at its Power Setting set at Panel Self Refresh is set to On and you need to turn it Off, this happened to my Nitro 5 AN515-56 after an update to the new Intel graphics Arc driver and all of a sudden this flickering started. look at this Intel article at "How to Fix a Flickering Screen with Intel® Graphics" see this guides.

I was so excited that someone else had the same problem and had a resolution, but unfortunately my Intel Command Center don't have the option you described

  • are you sure the display is dead? When you connect an external display to the hdmi port, does the image display?
