Why does my Acer Nitro 5 AN51-58-79Q1 keep freezing whenever I run a game?

I bought my Acer Nitro 5 AN51-58-79Q1 yesterday from Harvey Norman, I boot up a game of squad, press join game and the whole computer freezes randomly with the only way to fix it by pressing the power button. I've reduced the refresh rate to 60hz, all drivers are up to date, system is up to date… I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it, please help!

First of all, the Nitro model that you have is NOT the Nitro 5 AN51-58-79Q1 its the Nitro AN515-58-79Q1. You need to update this laptops GPU Firmware to Version 1.04a and also update the BIOS to last Version 2.09. Be careful, as if you don't know how to do this then get an experienced technician to do this for you, I take no responsibility if you brick your laptop!

Also, I don't think that you have installed all the NVidia drivers like you say. Install the latest NVidia driver for the RTX30XX GPU that your laptop exact model has, by first installing the NVidia GeForce Experience software (as that also notifyees you of the NVidia latest GPU driver) and also set the NVidia Control Panel at Program Settings > and set the "Squad" game to run specifically on the High-performance NVidia processor always. Also install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant and make sure that all Intel graphics and other drivers are up to date including all the Windows Updates, as doing all the above will make your Nitro 5 AN515-58-79Q1 perform to its best, as imo you haven't setup this laptop properly and that is why its freezing, If and after you've done all this and its still freezing, then send it to Acer Tech Support and get them to look at your laptop, as it might have hardware issues that need changing and/or fixing.

Good luck and hope this helps you out, btw I'm in Australia also and own a Nitro AN515-56 and have had 18 months experience using this laptop so I know a little about these laptops, as doing all the above is the secret of these laptops working well and trouble free.

Just as a side note and if you want to spend the money: The best specs for a high end gaming laptop is to have 32GB total ram, as your laptop has a 1x 16GB DDR4-3200Mhz CL22 type ram which runs in single channel, increase the ram by adding another ram module of the same at 1x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 so that your laptop runs in 32GB total Dual Channel which is allot faster and more efficient for gaming. If you play allot of high end games then install a fast PCIe 4 x4 M.2 SSD into your laptop like the Samsung 990 Pro M.2 SSD as both of your AN515-58s M.2 SSD1 and SSD 2 slots are PCIe 4 x4 speed slots and your laptop will perform and be up for playing the top end games,
