Hello people,

So i'm facing an issue with my Acer Travelmate P648-MG. When i put it on charge, the orange light telling me it's charging start to blink and then the computer is no more charging. I realised it was not the case when i plug the charger and the computer was off or in standby mode. In these cases, there was no blinking. I tried to use the charger on another computer and it was doing the job just fine, so it cannot be blamed. Can you help me solve this issue?

I'm grateful for your answer but I don't know how to perform a battery reset on this specific laptop

Your Travelmate is from 2017, so just about six years old. On the bottom there's a battery reset pinhole, #6 in this image:

Turn it off and disconnect everything especially the power. Use a SIM tool or a bent paperclip to push the button under that pinhole and hold it pressed for 15-30 seconds. Release and wait 15 to minutes and then plug only the charger back in. Wait for the battery indicator to show a full battery (which might take a few hours) then turn it back on and retest. If the blinking reoccurs then it's a sign that the battery has failed and will need to be replaced. Typically batteries last for 5-7 years, though sometimes can go much longer and occasionally much shorter, so yours being bad at this age wouldn't be unusual.

Replace the battery, life span for a new battery is maximum 4-5 years, less if depleted (drained to zero).
