I received my CP713-3W-5102 in October of 2021. I purchased it new.

The battery life was around seven to eight hours with my normal use.

Now a full battery lasts four hours, according to the icon.

Crosh says my battery health is 82.91%

It discharged with 68.83% left.

And it discharged 1.75% in 300 seconds.

Battery info:
OEM name: LGC KT0
Model number: AP19B8M
Chemistry : LION
Serial number: 69E1
Design capacity: 4683 mAh
Last full charge: 3876 mAh
Design output voltage 11610 mV
Cycle count 227
Present voltage 11583 mV
Present current 627 mA (discharging)
Remaining capacity 2582 mAh
Flags 0x06 BATT_PRESENT DISCHARGING

Should I consider replacing my battery? I am happy with the laptop and do not intend to purchase a new one for at least two more years.

No, I have not. I didn't know such a thing was possible.

I assume this is the method:

    Reset Battery Percentage

    1. Unplug the device from the AC adapter and power it down completely.
    2. Press Escape+Refresh+Power keys simultaneously to invoke recovery mode. (you should be greeted with a screen that says “Chrome OS is missing or damaged. It’s okay, nothing is broken. Do not press any other keys)
    3. Now, plug the AC adapter back in and leave the device as is. Do not power down or close the lid.
    4. Leave the Chromebooks plugged in for 6 hours to allow the battery to recalibrate and take a full charge.
    5. While still plugged in, hold the power button and power down the device.
    6. Leaving the device plugged in, power it back up and you should see the battery level at full or close to it.
    7. Unplug the Chromebook and you’re all set. The battery should be back to its normal self and the indicator should reflect the full charge.

How do you power down completely and then get into Recovery Mode?

Press and hold the power button. After a few seconds you should get a menu that allows you to fully power off.

I followed the directions I copied and pasted above.

My battery life jumped to about six hours.

I did have an issue where the battery was drained but I was not able to get to Recovery Mode (which is no longer white).

I put in a low-power charger to get enough going to do this before I went to my 60W brick.

So I am unsure if I just have a full battery and didn't notice it is six hours or if I "recalibrated" my battery.

The part I do not understand is how to drain the battery yet still be able to have enough power to get into Recovery Mode and do everything else.

And, at 92%, I have three hours and forty-two minutes left.
