Hi

I have got massive problems with the audio on my PC. The problem is that when i want to listen to music through my headphones or on the PC Speakers, the sound is so choppy that it is impossible to listen to. I have tried installing the drivers again from the acer site, and i have almost no programs installed. But the problem remains.

Can anyone help?

Kand, a review from one source said that your two stereo speakers are good quality, but you will get better sound from a headset. Is it possible that you have your headset plugged into the wrong port?

"Despite the fact that the speakers and the software are both good, audio enthusiasts are still advised to use external speakers. They can do this via the HDMI port or the headphone jack (3.5mm stereo), which allows the user to control analogue and digital devices over an optical cable (S/PDIF). The sound quality is impressive in all cases."

I'm not sure what you mean by "choppy sound." You might have a damaged cable on your headset. Try borrowing other speakers and headsets to see if that is the problem.

    Thank you for your reply.

The cable is in the right place. The sound issues is only present when I use headsets or the speakers, not HDMI. I never questioned the basic quality of the speakers, but this has occurred after 6 mnd of use, and was not there from the beginning.

With choppy sound i mean that the sound "scratches" og stops for half a second all the time. It's like the PC is working so hard that it is not able to play the sound. I can compare it to the sound of a slow buffering video. i Have tried to find the correct english word for this, but I was not able to, sorry. Hope you understand what i mean.

    Hallo Kand,

to get closer to the reason of your sound problem, you might try the following:

Go into Skype and perform the "Echo/Sound-Test"

    How is the result?

    Hi,

The test reveals no problems, exept the sound chopping under the automatic message, and the playback as well. So its the same as during music/video.
