Dual boot Nitro AN517-55 It doesn't even give the Win 11 disk as an option for partitioning.

I want to install a LinuxCNC dual boot alongside Win 11. I purchased an extra SSD drive that is recognized by Win 11 but not from the Bios. In fact, I don't know what the Bios recognizes because of Bios restrictions. I can get half way through the LinuxCNC (similar to Debian) install where it asks me what disk it will install to and I don't have any options, just the USB drive. It doesn't even give the Win 11 disk as an option for partitioning. Since the Bios only allows "Windows boot manager" for boot options, I imagine that is the problem. I have read through about 50 different blogs and not a single option has worked. It is InsydeH20 Bios. I would even settle for getting rid of Win 11 if needed but that is not even an option now. I just finished this process on Win 10 desktop yesterday without any hiccups but this Acer is being extremely stubborn! Please help. Thanks

@CoxCox is your BIOS on the MAIN tab?

@CoxCox go to the BIOS, main tab, and press CTRL + S to reveal the VMD controller. Please disable it and you can see the partition with the Linux installation.

Thanks for the reply but I don't see any difference after pressing CTRL + S. I don't see an option for VMD controller. I might be missing something. What tab is the VMD controller supposed to be under?

That worked, Thanks. I skipped the "main tab" part the first time.

FYI for all those who want to install LinuxCNC on their Nitro laptop, I couldn't get it to work. I installed the OS and could get into the boot section and it would always stall out. The Grub boot loader (LinuxCNC boot) couldn't load and the on-screen errors all had to due with "Bios Restriction". The boot would stall and I would have to power cycle the laptop.

I have spent far too long trying to figure out the Bios that it is not worth it to continue trying to figure Acer out. Worst Bios I have every used!!!! Other than that, the laptop is sweet! Good looking, fast as hell, and the fastest boot time.
