Is there a way to silence the toughpad as it makes a banging noise when I use it. Would like it to sound like the keyboard which is no sound.

Thank you,

Chuck

I'm not sure what you mean by "a banging sound" when using the touchpad.

Can you be more specific please?

Not sure how to describe the sound but maybe a clicking sound is more accurate. Is it possible make the touchpad have the same sound as when I use the keyboard which is very soft and not as pronounced as the touchpad? If I need to describe it further please let me know.

Also, when the battery is fully charged how long should the battery last as mine never shows more than 2 1/2 hours and I thought the battery life was longer.

Last question, since I am the only user of this notebook how can I eliminate having to sign on each time?

Thank you for your time and help.

May I please add my contribution:

1.) Click sound of the touchpad: I have a notebook here from another brand than Acer. The click sound of the touchpad keys is so uncomfortable, that I decided to work with an external mouse, which has a normal and acceptable click sound. And by the way, using that mouse saves me one hand to be free. Whereas you have to use both hands when working with the touchpad.

There might be a possibility to reduce the click sound of the touchpad - but I did not yet try it: apply a droplet of a lubricate into the space between the touchpad keys and the cover. As I said: i did not dare to do so by now.

2.) Battery: depends on how the notebook is used - only a little bit office applications or high power calculations or games?

Display at full brightness or reduced?

And it depends on how you have treated the battery in the beginning. Have you followed the "rule" of discharging and charging 4 times? And please take into consideration - notebook batteries have a "good" lifetime of abaut 4..6 years. That is due to the used technology.

3.) Your third question can be solved. Go to User Account in Systemcontrol and eliminate the user password. Therafter your notebook will start without asking for sign on.
