ACER swift 3 damaged when it was sent for repair and now charging point doesn't work properly

I am so unhappy with ACER. I bought a laptop an ACER Swift 3 from then and a huge gap appeared between the screen and the plastic casing less than a year into owning it. They tried to say it was damage I had caused and wanted to charge me to fix it before I pointed out that after I did research I found this was a very common problem not caused by laptop users but poor manufacturing.

3 weeks after the laptop was sent back to them it was returned to me with white sticky tape over the hinge part and claiming they had fixed it. It does seem to be fixed but now the charging port which I had no problems with before seems to be loose and charging is very difficult and involves sitting for over an hour holding in the end of the cable that is red hot all down the left hand side. I consider the laptop to potentially now be a fire hazard and never leave it alone.

I complained to ACER who sent me the logs of the repair and it looks as if the damage was caused by them replacing the hinge. I told them that but they are still insisting that I pay to have the laptop repaired. They are also trying to claim that it had a loose charging port when it was sent to them which it didn't. I was able to charge the laptop before with NO problems.

I am now stuck with a laptop that is virtually unsable. I spent money on a new power pack hoping that the power pack was the problem - the new one has made no difference.

Can anyone offer advice on what I can do here please? I need the laptop for work.

Which Swift 3 model is it? There have been literally hundreds of them over the years. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx. on some models the charging port is held in place by the hinge on that side, so they might not have gotten it fully seated. If they didn't replace the cover with a new one the hinge might not be fully held in place, allowing the port to wiggle.

Just received my acer swift 3 14 laptop back from repair under warranty, they have handled my laptop in a very rough way and it has lots of scratches on the casing and underneath the laptop, customer service is disgusting, I have made a complaint about this, I don't trust them what so ever now, I've taken pictures and sent them a complaint email!
