Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop AN517-41-R0GA shut down and won't turn back on.

So yesterday I was on my laptop playing a game. It had been on for maybe 15 mins when it shut down and wouldn't turn back on. I contacted customer support using their automated system. It said my product is out of support yet accordingly it was saying it was ending Today June 26 2023 and would not let me talk to a live person.

So the problem is the laptop shut down without warning and will not turn back on. It wasn't overheating. It was plugged in at the time. Battery was fine as I have run the laptop off of the battery in the past with no problems.

    Do a battery reset like its shown below, make sure the laptop is turned off completely and do the below:

    If the above doesn't work then do a Hard Reset by opening the back cover of the laptop, first disconnect and take the main battery out, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery, take the RAM module(s) out and leave the laptop disconnected for 15min, as this will reset the Super IO and BIOS chip and fix the power on/off and boot problems.

    If all these resets don't work, then you have other power on/off issues that are within the primary power stages of your laptop, that you will need to take your AN517-41 to either Acer Support or to an experienced technician in your area as a user like you has no chance of fixing these faults.

    Unfortunately I did some of that for the battery and didn't work. I will add the other things in with trying again. My main gripe is tech support automated system telling me it is not in warranty when the warranty is ending on the day I try to contact them.

    Hey open it up and check the charging circuit

    Check for discoloration and black where it's not supposed to be you might take off the motherboard and check the underside of it.

    So unfortunately I tried all that you mentioned to do and it did not work. So it is something else. So I am going to have to take it in to a computer repair place to see what it is and hopefully it doesn't cost too much as I am still paying for the laptop

    Yes unfortunately your laptop might have burned out circutry issues in the primary power stages that need to be checked by an experienced technician if a capacitor, filter or a mosat have burned out or at worst it could be a burned out gpu or cpu or even a bios or chipset chip, and all these comments need to be checked out and pin pointed to where the fault is, as you can't do this yourself, as power on issues are complex.

    So an update on my laptop. I took it in to a repair place. He said it was 50/50 on repairing it. He took a few days and was able to determine that capacitors on the top and bottom of the motherboard got toasted due to no fault of mine. The tech repaired them and I am posting this message from my laptop.
